DHAKA: Sri Lanka resumed their first innings batting on the second day of the second and final test against Bangladesh at P Sara Oval in Colombo on Thursday (March 16).

Earlier on the first day, Sri Lanka scored 238-run losing seven wickets in 83.1-over when bad light forced umpires to call it a day.

Bangladesh bowlers made early inroads in the Lanka batting line-up. Mustafizur and Miraz both picked up two wickets each while Subashis Roy, Taijul Islam and Shakib Al Hasan took one each impeding the hosts’ progress.

Chandimal and Rangana Herath resumed the batting for the home team with 86 and 18 runs respectively.

Besides, Dhananjaya de Silva and Niroshan Dickwella scored 34-run each.

Earlier, Sri Lanka captain Rangana Herath won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first in their historic 100th test match.
