DHAKA: Bangladesh bowlers have picked up seven wickets of host New Zealand who are still trailing by 29 runs of the visitors’ first innings total of 289-run at the end of rain-affected second day’s play at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Saturday (January 21).

Ace all rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who bowled only 7-over out of 71-over of Kiwi innings, picked up three wickets in two overs to bring Bangladesh back into the contest.

Besides, Kamrul Islam Rabbi took two wickets during a superb spell of pace bowling in the first session of the second day and Taskin and Miraz took one wicket each.

Ross Taylor and Tom Latham scored 77 and 68 runs respectively. Currently, Henry Nicholls and Tim Southee are on the crease with 56 and 4 runs respectively.
