Mominul scores 11 consecutive fifties in Tests

DHAKA: Bangladesh top-order batsman Mominul Haque hit 11th consecutive fifty-plus score, first ever by a Bangladesh batsman, in Test Cricket and thus joined an exclusive club of four cricketers including Sir Viv Richards, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag.

The 23-year old left-hand batter scored 68-run in the 2nd innings of 2nd Test against Pakistan at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur in city Saturday.

However, the scanty-looking Bangladesh batsman has, so far, scored nine 50’s and four 100’s with the top score of 181.

Overall, so far, the “Bradman” of Bangladesh has managed to score 1380 runs in 14 Test matches in an astounding average of 60.
