Pakistan beat UAE by 129-run

DHAKA: Pakistan beat United Arab Emirates (UAE) by a huge margin of 129-run in their fourth match in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Pool B match at McLean Park, Napier Wednesday.

While chasing a stiff target of 340-run, UAE managed to score 210-run losing eight wickets in their stipulated 50-over.

Middle order batsman Shaiman Anwar scored 62 runs while Khurram Khan, Amjad Javed and wicketkeeper-batsman SP Patil took 43, 40 and 36 runs respectively.

Sohail Khan, Wahab Ria and Shahid Afridi took two wickets each for Pakistan while Rahat Ali and Sohaib Maqsood took one wicket each.

Earlier, UAE captain Mohamed Tauqir won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first in the match that kicked off at 7:00am Bangladesh time.

With Ahmed Shehzad’s 93-run and two fifties from Haris Sohail (70) and captain Misbah-ul-Haq (65) helped Pakistan score 339-run losing six wickets in 50-over.

Another batsman Sohaib Maqsood missed fifty, contributing 45 runs before he went to pavilion.

UAE’s Manjula Guruge took four wickets while Mohammad Naveed grabbed one.
