Tigers win 2nd ODI against Zimbabwe

DHAKA: Bangladesh won the second One Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe by 68 runs in the five-match Bashundhara Cement ODI series in Chittagong Sunday.

In response to the Bangladesh-set 252-run target, the visitors lost all wickets to score 183 runs at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

SF Mire scored the highest 50 while Chakabva and Chigumbura took 32 and 38 runs respectively.

Mashrafe Mortaza picked up the first three wickets while Arafat Sunny bagged four wickets.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and elected to bat first in the day/night match.

Openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque built a solid ground scoring 76 runs off 98 balls and 80 off 110 balls respectively.

Mushfiqur Rahim earned 27 runs while Mominul Haque did 33, however.

Tamim was the victim of run out at first when Bangladesh’s score was 158. Shortly after, Anamul walked to the pavilion after being caught by Sibanda. Panyangara bagged the vital wicket.

Zimbabwe’s T Panyangara and T Kamungozi picked up two wickets each while TL Chatara took one.

On November 21, Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 87 runs in the first ODI in Chittagong.
