Pathetic Batting –Abject Surrender

Bangladesh Cricket team disappointed and disgraced themselves and the nation. After bundling out India for 105 Bangladesh were shot out for 58. An awful display of spineless batting.

The abject surrender of Bangladesh Cricketers has no excuses. The wicket had movement, ball was seaming .Debutant Taskin had dream debut, old fox Mashrafee also bowled well.

Bangladesh after yet another failure of Tamim seemed to have been on course at 44/2 after a 31 run Mithun –Mushfique partnership. Coming to bowl at that time Stuart Binny with his gentle medium pace ran riot.

Bangladesh lost the last 7 wickets for 14 runs in one of the most dramatic batting collapse of One Day Cricket. The loss by 47 runs now has created another situation of getting white washed to a second string (?) Indian team.

There cannot be any excuse for such a disappointing, irresponsible and uncharacteristic display. Wicket definitely did not have any venom and Stuart Binny is not a demon bowler for getting 6 wickets for 4 runs.

No one showed any character in one way procession of Bangladesh batting. When 9 batsmen in any batting line up fail to reach double figure one must say there must be something wrong in Batsmen psyche, in the team Chemistry. One must feel sorry and sad for Teenager Taskin making a dream debut of getting 5/28 runs in bundling out Indians for 105. His achievement was so sadly undone by these senior brothers.

In the present state of the team it is highly unlikely that the team will soon turn around and win the last match salvaging something. Another white wash is lurking and looming .This time to a below strength Indian team. I do not think any major ICC associate member team like Ireland, Afghanistan would have lost a match like this from the position Bangladesh were in. Bangladesh team and BCB owe an explanation to the nation.

We must thank and congratulate Suresh Raina and his team for defending such a modest total .They did not lose calm and composure even after being pushed back to the wall. Stuwart Binny had magical figure of 6/4 in 4.4 overs and Mohit Sharma got 4/22. Of the Bangladeshi batsmen only debutant Mithun Ali (26) and Mushfique (11) could reach double figure. At one stage Bangladesh was 44/2 and from there lost 7 wickets within the wink of an eye in 6 overs through a very unprofessional manner. 9 of the 11 batsmen could not reach double figure and together only contributed 21 runs.

There must be a through soul searching. The team really looks down and out .It is very difficult to understand why Tamim cannot be rested about regular and consistent failures with the bat .What role Ziaur play in the team? We hope team management and BCB will shoulder responsibility for such a shameful performance. It is not one or two matches Bangladesh cricket team is playing poorly for the last several months. It cannot go any worse. The nation is disappointed. We cannot let this to continue indefinitely. Something must be done too soon.

There is win and loss in any game. But we cannot accept when players continuously show no stomach to fight. God knows when again such an opportunity to win against India will come. We wasted it.

The team management needs change of heart through heart transplantation .BCB needs infusing of fresh blood .Things must not be let go business as usual. Bangladesh Cricket team is becoming an object of ridicule day by day.
