Govt to allow Khaleda’s treatment abroad, Fakhrul hopes

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir hoped that the government would allow the party chairperson Khaleda Zia to take better treatment abroad on humanitarian ground.

He came up with the hope while attending a programme on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday night, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's family sought permission from the government to take her abroad for better treatment.

Later, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told the press that he sent the application to the law ministry for its opinion. Upon getting its view, the ministry will make the decision.

Having infected with coronavirus, the former prime minister is suffering from breathing and other complications.

BNP chief Khaleda Zia is already convicted in two graft cases while many other criminal and corruption cases are pending with the court.

She is out of the jail following the government’s executive order which is extended.
