The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will file a case today (June 22) against former Chief Election Commissioners (CECs) and other election commissioners, alleging irregularities in previous national elections.
Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP’s media cell, confirmed the matter on Saturday (June 21).
He said a three-member BNP delegation, led by central committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, will first submit a copy of the case application to the Election Commission.
This move follows reports that the interim government is set to investigate alleged electoral misconduct under election commissions formed during the Awami League’s tenure.
The 10th, 11th, and 12th parliamentary elections — held in 2014, 2018, and 2024 — were overseen by CECs Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad, KM Nurul Huda, and Kazi Habibul Awal, respectively.
