Members of police have arrested two individuals, including Barishal District Workers’ League President Shahjahan Hawlader, in connection with a case of arson at the BNP office in Barishal.

The arrests were made in separate operations on Thursday (May 15).

The detainees are Shahjahan Hawlader, a veteran freedom fighter, and Mohiuddin Milon, Organizational Secretary of Ward No. 6 Jubo League.

According to Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman, both are named in the case’s charge sheet and face charges of vandalism, arson, and sabotage related to the BNP office attack.

Authorities are continuing efforts to arrest other suspects connected to the case.
