SATKHIRA: A Juba League activist was beaten to death by blockaders in Mahmudpur area under Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Giash Uddin, 30, a Juba League activist of Itagachha union under the upazila.

Sources said Giash and his one friend were going to Satkhira by motorbike from Bhomara around 5:30pm. On way, blockaders obstructed them and beat them with iron rod, leaving Giash dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Satkhira Sadar Thana Enamul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
