A Jubo League leader was shot to death by miscreants at Gauripur West Bazar of Comilla Daudkandi upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Jamal Hossain, 38, son of Fazlul Haque and resident of Ziarkandi village of Titas Upazila. 

Jamal was Joint Convener of Titas Upazila Jubo League and also a businessman of Gauripur market.

According to locals, on Sunday evening they heard the sound of gunshot in the market. Later they found Jamal lying there and took him to the hospital immediately. Locals also saw three men fleeing the scene wearing burqas.

Gouripur Police Outpost in-charge Md Asaduzzaman said Jamal was shot in the forehead and chest. Although he was declared dead at the Upazila Health Complex, his relatives took Jamal to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

DMCH Police Outpost in-charge Inspector Md Bachchu Mia said that the body was kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy.
