BNP to be included if they agree

DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday said the door is still open for opposition BNP to hold dialogue and reach consensus with the government, even after the formation of the all-party interim election government.

The information minister came up with the observation while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in the city.

He said, “The Election Commission (EC) will have to announce the election schedule keeping 45 days in hand and it is likely to issue gadget within January 24.”

He said all the government employees will perform their duties under the supervision of the EC immediately after the announcement of the election schedule.

Describing the role of the interim government, he said: “The polls-time government will perform their routine works.”

Regarding deployment of the army in the elections, the minister said the EC would take the decision in this regard.
