A local Jubo League leader was killed in a road accident in Jamalpur's Bakshiganj on Tuesday (Oct 4). 

The deceased was identified as Abdul Alim Tara, the member secretary of Bakshiganj Upazila Jubo League.

According to the information, the accident occurred on Tuesday (October 4) evening on the Jamalpur-Dewanganj road in front of the Mosharfganj petrol pump of Islampur Upazila when another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided head-on.

Islampur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Akram Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said Tara was moving towards Mymensingh when a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided head-on in Nandina area.

The motorcyclists fled from the hospital after hearing the news of Tara's death, he added.
