Man gets life-term in Kishoreganj drug case

A Kishoreganj court today (Oct 3) sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a case filed under the drug case.

Additional district and session judge of Kishoreganj Md. Jannatul Ferdous Ibn Haque declared the verdict in the absence of the accused.

The accused was identified as Md. Abul Kalam, 25, son of Doctor Mon Mia.

According to the case statement, in 2017, during a drive by RAB-14, Abul Kalam was arrested from Bhairab railway station along with two kg of hemp, 30 bottles of Phensydil, and a mobile phone. Later, a case was registered against Kalam at Bhairab police station.

However, he was out on bail after long imprisonment and went into hiding. Later, police submitted a charge sheet at Kishoreganj court against the accused Abul Kalam. After a long hearing, the court gave this verdict today.
