Two people were killed in a road accident at Bijoynagar uapzila in Brahmanbaria district on Sunday (Sep 10).

The deceased were identified as Sumon Goswami, 30, son of Swapon, and Mohon Banik, 31, son of Gouranga Nath. They hailed from Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district.

Khatihata Highway Police Station officer in-charge Sukhendra Bose confirmed the matter.

He said a truck crushed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shoshui area this morning, leaving the auto-rickshaw passengers Sumon and Mohon dead on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to a hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
