A female student of Narsingdi Model College was arrested today (Sep 22) after police recovered the hanging body of a teacher of the same college in Narsingdi. 

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Ali, 30, a lecturer in Chemistry department of Narsingdi Model College.

Earlier, the teacher allegedly committed suicide at his home in Hajipur of the district on Wednesday (Sep 21) around 9 pm. Before the incident, he, in his Facebook post, said: "I'm destroying myself."

According to the case statement, the teacher had an affair with a second-year student of the same College. Later, when the student started putting pressure on marriage, there was an argument between them. At one point, the student came to the teacher's house. When she found the hanging body of the teacher. 

After receiving the news, the deceased wife came to the spot, as she was not home at that time, the wife also demanded a proper trial through investigation.

Narsingdi Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Feroz Talukder confirmed the matter.

He said the girl has been brought to the police station for investigation purpose.  

The body was recovered and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
