A woman was crushed to death under the wheels of a train in Baniachal area in Narsingdi on Sunday (August 14). 

The identity of the diseased could not be known immediately.

Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost In charge (SI) Imayedul Zahedi confirmed this matter.

He said the woman was killed by the Chattogram-bound Karnaphuli train while crossing the railway line in Baniachal area this morning. 

The railway police recovered the body. 

Later, the body was sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said SI, adding legal proceeding is underway in this regard.
