The eleven people who were killed in a road accident on their way back from Khayachra Jharna, Mirsharai were buried in their family graveyards after the funeral prayers.

The funeral of five people among 11 was completed at Amanbazar Khandakia Chamudiya Government Primary School of Hathazari Upazila on Saturday (July 30) at 10:30 am.

Besides, at 11:30 am, the funeral of 4 more deceased was held at Najumia school grounds. 

On the other hand, the funeral prayers of the deceased Maruf and Jisan were held on Friday (July 29) night. They were later buried in the family graveyard.

Hathajari Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Shahidul Alam said that the bodies were handed over to the families after all the legal procedures were completed on Friday. 

Earlier, 11 passengers of a microbus were killed and four others injured as a train hit a microbus at a rail crossing at Mirsarai in Chattogram on Friday.

According to locals, the microbus got hit by the Chattogram-bound Mahanagar Provati express while trying to cross the railway line at a high speed and dragging it several hundred metres down the railway track.
