Television channel - News24 is celebrating its sixth anniversary with a vow to project positive stories of people using traditional and new media platforms.

A colourful programme is being organised at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Thursday.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan cut a cake along with Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and other guests.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder and State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman were guests of honour on the occasion. 

East West Media Group Director Indadul Haq Milan, Daily Sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury and Banglanews24 Editor Jewel Mazher were present on the occasion while News24 Executive Editor Rahul Raha made the address of welcome on the occasion.

In his speech, Commerce Minister said News24 along with other media of the Group projects positive stories of Bangladesh

"Bashundhra Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan is a man with progressive mindset. All media under the Group also projects progressive stories. News24 has shown it's excellence in six years of operations," he said

Food Minister Sadhan Majumder said NEW24 has gained popularity across the country through projecting people oriented stories.

"In my district of Naogaon, I found that NEW24 is a popular channel. The channel is projecting positive stories of Bangladesh globally," he said.

State Minister Enamur Rahman appreciated NEWS24 for completing sixth years of operations successfully.

"News24 has been upholding the spirit of liberation war in practicing objective journalism," he said.

In his speech, Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said media have to project the stories of Bangladesh that grew in all indicators of development including commerce and food security.

"Commerce Minister and Food Minister are along with me. We know that there is no doubt about the country's stability. However, some media try to create negative hype. We should keep positive mindset about Bangladesh," he said. 

Bashundhra Group Chairman urged all media outlets to maintain objective journalism for welfare of people and the country.

“We organise the daylong celebration, including a special musical show, at the ICCB. Besides, the channel will air a special talk-show on current affairs with the participation of dignitaries,” said News24 Executive Editor Rahul Raha.

NEWS24 began its operation on July 27, 2016 as an electronic broadcasting media under East West Media Group Limited owned by Bashundhara Group.
