The population size of Bangladesh is currently 165,158,616,, according to Population and Housing Census 2022.

Of which, number of males is 81,712,824 while number of females is 83,347,206.

Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics unveiled the preliminary report of country’s first digital "Population & Housing Census 2022" at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital on Wednesday (July 27). 

The population of the third gender is 12,629.

On 15 June, the census and house enumeration activities started simultaneously across the country.

The census was scheduled to end on 21 June, but due to floods in the northeastern districts, the census continued till 28 June.

In 2011 census, the population size was 144.04 million in the country.
