The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 74 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Thursday (Jan 27).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 6,605 Yaba tablets, 70.71 kg of hemp, 10 bottles of phensedyl and 423 grams of heroin from their possessions, a DMP statement said.

Based on information, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.

A total of 55 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act, the statement added.
