Public transports will carry passengers at their full capacity although the government earlier asked transport owners to run at half capacity to check spread of Covid-19.

The Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association has issued a press release in this regard. 

A meeting was held between the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and representatives of bus-minibus owners and workers at the BRTA head office at Banani in the capital on Wednesday.

In the meeting, the transport owners' association proposed the government to allow full seating service operation. 

The ministry concerned, however, approved their proposal in an oral message on Thursday, said the release issued by the association. 

However, no standing passengers will be allowed, it added.  

On Wednesday, the authorities concerned decided not to increase fare for running buses at half of capacity across the country from Saturday (Jan 15).
