Global COVID-19 cases top 317.83m, deaths pass 5.53m [image collected]

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 317.83 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.53 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Thursday (Jan 12, 5pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 317,833,403 and 5,532,952 respectively.

Besides, a total of 263,072,536 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 222 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 64,359,409 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 866,891 people have died and 42,805,090 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 22,718,606 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 620,419 have died and 21,626,836 recovered.

In India, 36,316,927 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 485,035 people have died and 34,715,361 people have recovered.

In Russia, 10,723,305 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 319,172 have died and 9,784,348 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 4,214,253 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 300,764 died and 3,373,393 recovered from the disease.

In Peru, 2,440,349 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 203,193 have died.

In UK, 14,862,138 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 151,007 patients have died and 11,037,780 people have recovered.

In Indonesia, 4,268,097 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 144,150 patients have died and 4,116,962 people have recovered.

In Italy, 7,971,068 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 139,872 people have died and 5,609,136 people have recovered. 

In Iran, 6,212,387 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 131,972 patients have died and 6,056,633 patients have recovered. 

In Colombia, 5,410,698 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 130,529 people have died and 5,101,151 people have recovered.

In France, 12,934,982 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 126,305 patients have died and 8,857,455 patients have recovered.

In Argentina, 6,664,717 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 117,670 patients have died and 5,700,467 people have recovered.

In Germany, 7,711,995 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 115,605 patients have died and 6,878,100 have recovered.

In Poland, 4,265,433 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 101,419 patients have died and 3,751,459 people have recovered.

In Ukraine, 3,727,034 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 97,928 patients have died and 3,537,826 people have recovered.

In South Africa, 3,540,891 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 92,830 patients have died and 3,309,735 people have recovered.

In Spain, 7,771,367 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 90,508 have died and 5,216,408 patients have recovered. 

In Turkey, 10,195,676 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 84,125 patients have died and 9,436,662 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,604,664 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 28,123 people died and 1,551,955 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 in 2020.
