Return to classes, PM urges students

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today urged the protesting students to go back to their respective institutions stopping vandalism.

She told students: "Don't do this (vandalism on streets). Please return to your class rooms and pay attention to study."

The premier made the urge while opening newly installed Mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and laying foundation stone of Joyeeta Tower at Osmani Memorial Auditorium, joining virtually from her Official residence Ganabhaban here.

Of course, the offenders are being brought to book as they have been found out, she said, adding "We will do this and law enforcement agencies are very alert in this regard."

As video footages are available, it's not very tough job to find out the perpetrators involved in any crime as all activities are now being conducted using technology, she added.

Expressing a note of warning against vandalism, the PM said those, involved in vehicles vandalism and setting up fire in future, would be found out and brought under punishment.

Any time it could spread out which might force the authorities concerned to close the educational institutions again, she said.

So, students should go back to your classrooms, the PM said.

With State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira, MP in the chair, Secretary of the Ministry Md. Sayedul Islam delivered the
welcome address.

Bangladesh Shishu Academy Chairperson Lucky Enam and Joyeeta Foundation Managing Director Afroja khan also spoke.
