SSC examinee’s death: Students block Rampura road

The protesting students of different educational institutions at Rampura in the city on Tuesday (Nov 30) blocked the bridge over the death of a SSC examinee in the area on Monday night.

SSC candidate Mainuddin Islam Durjoy, 16, of Ekramunnesa High Schoolwas ran over by a bus of 'Anabil Paribahan' nearb Rampura Bazar at night while crossing a road there.

The students of different institutions gathered around 10:30am on Tuesday on the Rampura Bridge. 

The protesting students shouted slogans demanding justice for the victim and safer roads for all. 

However, the protest brought traffic to a halt in the whole area. 

Immediately after the accident on Monday night, angry mob blocked the road and torched nine buses.

On Wednesday (Nov 24), Nayeem Hasan, a 2nd-year student of a student of Notre Dame College was killed after being hit by a vehicle of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in Gulistan of the capital.
