The country reported one death and 179 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Sunday morning (Oct 24), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, 87 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 154 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 25 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 840 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 680 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 160 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 22,498 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 21,571 patients have returned home after recovery.
