Two construction workers were killed and three others injured as a trolley turned turtle in Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Harun Ali, 60, son of Shashuddin and Habibiur, 30, son of Ohed Ali, both of them hailing from Gazipur village at Swadeshi union in the upazila.

Shahinuzzaman Khan, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Haluaghat Police Station, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said a haluaghat-bound trolley, carrying at least 10 workers, lost control on the Haluaghat-Sarchapu road at Itakhola around 8:00am, leaving two dead on the spot and two others injured.

Local people rescued the injured workers and rushed them to a local hospital, the OC said. They were, later, referred to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.
