A ferry hit the under-construction Padma Bridge on its way from Shimulia of Munshiganj to Paturia in Manikganj on Tuesday morning.
The ferry 'Birshreshtha Jahangir' hit the 1-B span between pillars no. 2 and 3 of the bridge on at around 7 am.
Padma Bridge Executive Engineer (Main Bridge) Dewan Mohammad Abdul Quader confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
The ferry's mast broke in this incident, he said.
On July 23, Ferry 'Shahjalal' hit pillar no-7 of the Padma Bridge, while Birshreshtha Jahangir Ferry and Kakoli Ferry hit pillar no-10 of the bridge on August 9 and August 13 respectively.
