Amid the worsening Covid-19 situation, Khulna division registered 45 deaths in a 24-hour span till Sunday (July 25) morning.

With this, the Covid death toll reached 2,171 in the division. 

Of the deceased, 15 were from Kushtia, 11 from Khulna, six from Jessore, three Magura and Meherpur each, two from Bagerhat and Jhenaidah each, and one each from Chuadanga, Satkhira and Narail.

Rasheda Sultana, Director of Divisional Health Directorate, confirmed the matter to media.

Besides, 1,278 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the number of total caseloads to 87,062 in the division.

Khulna reported its first Coronavirus case on March 19 last year.
