Amid the worsening Covid-19 situation, Khulna division registered 36 deaths in a 24-hour span till Thursday (July 14) morning.

With this, the Covid death toll reached 1,725 in the division. 

Besides, 1,621 more people tested positive for the virus, raising the number of total cases to 76,401.

According to data, 48,827 people have so far recovered from the disease.

Dr Rasheda Sultana, divisional director of health, confirmed this information.

Of the deceased, nine from Khulna, 11 from Kushtia, seven from Jhenaidah, five from Jashore, two from Meherpur, one from Chuadanga and Satkhira each.

Khulna reported its first Coronavirus case on March 19 last year.
