A woman and her husband were sued over the Friday's triple murder in the capital’s Kadamtoli area.

Deceased Masud Rana's elder brother Shakhawat Hossain filed the case with Kadamtoli Police Station on Saturday night.

Masud Rana's elder daughter Mehzabin Moon and her husband Shafiqul Islam have been accused in the case for killing her parents and younger sister Jannatul. 

Mehzabin has been shown arrested in the case, the police station OC Jamal Uddin Mir confirmed.

Mehzabin, who allegedly killed her parents Mousumi Islam, 45, father Masud Rana, 50, and sister Jannatul, 20, in their house on Friday night, made a phone call to emergency hotline number 999 soon after the incident.

According to police, she also threatened to kill her husband and child if police did not act quickly.

Police on Saturday morning recovered the bodies of Mehzabin’s parents and sister from the first floor of a six-storey house on Lalmiah Sarkar Road in the area.

Shafiqul Islam and his daughter Marjan Tabassum Triptia, 6, were admitted to hospital.
