Country to face gas crisis for 3 days

The country will face gas crisis in the three days (June14-16), as the supply of LNG has been hampered due to a storm in the Bay of Bengal.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution issued a press release in this regard.

According to the release, the ships carrying imported gas remained stuck in the sea amid the weather depression.

Titas Managing Director Ali Iqbal Md Nurullah said gas pressure would be so low, as below 400 million cubic feet LNG will be supplied to the distribution line, instead of the regular 800 million cubic feet.

Therefore, gas supply for residential, industrial, electricity and commercial purposes will be disrupted for three days from June 14, he added.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department hoisted signal-3 for the seashore and hinted that it might continue for the next three days.
