Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the newly built Postal Bhaban (Dak Bhaban) head office in the capital on Thursday morning.

The new administrative building of Bangladesh Postal Department was built in the shape of mail drop box.

The premier has attended the programme as the chief guest virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar has presided over the function from the premise of Dak Bhaban in Agargaon.

The Dak Bhaban was constructed at a cost of Tk 91.73 crore at Agargaon in the capital. The project titled 'Headquarters of Bangladesh Postal Department' for construction of 14 storey building with 2 basements was approved by ECNEC on 20 March 2018.

The new building has a well-equipped library, modern postal museum, spacious auditorium, cafeteria, day-care center, medical facilities, fire-fighting system and other information technology facilities including round-the-clock WiFi.
