Three killed as bus overturns in Faridpur

At least three people were killed and 25 others injured as a passenger bus turned turtle in Bagail area at Gharua union under Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Wednesday noon.

One of the deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid, 55, son of Md Almas of Peyaratola in Chuadanga. The rest of the two are women.

Mohammad Omar Farooq, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhanga highway police station confirmed the news.

He said the passenger bus carrying the victims lost control and overturned after hitting a road side island on Dhaka-Khulna highway around 12:00 noon, leaving three passengers dead on the spot and 25 others injured.

Of them, 15 injured have been shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, he added.
