Two police personnel were killed as a truck hit their motorbike in Khaner Bazar area under Hatibanda upazial of Lalmonirhat on Monday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as- Sub-Inspector (DB) of Hatibanda police station Abdul Matin and constable Mojibul Haque.

Ershadul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatibanda police station, confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

He said the accident took place on Lalmonirhat-Burimari road around 3:00 pm when the policemen were returning to the station by a motorbike. A truck hit the bike as the policeman was trying to overtake it killing both riders on the spot. 

After the incident, locals seized truck. On information, members of Hatibanda police and fire service went to the spot and recovered the bodies, the OC added.
