Police have recovered the bodies of a couple from their home at Gopalpur Sylhetpara village in Nannar Union of Dhamrai, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Jewel, 22, son of Munsur Ali, hailing from the area and his wife Munmun, from Hatubhanga village in Mirzapir upazila of Tangail.

Locals informed police as they didn’t get any response from the couple after knocking their door for a long time.

Dipok Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhamrai Police Station confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsies, he said.

The OC also said the police suspect Jewell strangulated her wife to death sometime in the night and later committed suicide by taking poisons.
