DHAKA: Chamber Judge of the Supreme Court SK Sinha Tuesday ordered the postponement of the High Court order of stay on seven cases against opposition Chief Whip Joynal Abdin Farrukh.

The High Court on May 18 had stayed all proceedings in seven out of some 25 cases pending against the BNP lawmaker.

The raft of cases were slammed on Farrukh by leaders of Awami League and its front organizations across the country after he commented that Sajib Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was involved in clandestine VOIP business.

Additional Attorney-General Murad Reza stood for the state while Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah and Barrister Mahbub Uddin defended Farrukh.
Attorney-General Mahbube Alam was present during the hearing.
