DHAKA: A total of 19 pacts, memoranda of understanding (MoU) and memorial compliances between Bangladesh and India.
The signing ceremony was held at ‘Shapla’ hall in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in city around 6:30pm Saturday.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her India counterpart Narendra Modi were present during the ceremony.
The agreements, MoUs and memorial compliances include Bilateral Trade Agreement, Agreement of Coastal Shipping Between Bangladesh and India, Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade, Bilateral Cooperation Agreement Between Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) And Bureau Of Indian Standards (BIS), Agreement on Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati Bus Service and its Protocol and Agreement on Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartal Bus Service and its Protocol.
Moreover, MoU Between Coast Guards, MoU on Prevention Of Human Trafficking, MoU on Prevention of Smuggling and Circulation Fake Currency Notes, MoU for Extending a New Line of Credit (Loc) of US $2 Billion by Government of India to Government of Bangladesh, MoU on Blue Economy and Maritime Cooperation in The Bay of Bangal and Indian Ocean, MoU on Use of Chittagong and Mongla Ports, MoU For a Project Under IECC (India Endowment For Climate Change) Of SAARC and MoU on Indian Economic Zone.
The MoU on Cultural Exchange Program for the Years 2015-17, Statement of Intent on Bangladesh-India Education Cooperation, Agreement Between Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) and Bharat Sancher Nigam Limited (BSNL), MoU Between University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and Council of Scientific And Industrial Research, India for Joint Research on Oceanography of Bay Of Bengal and MoU Between University Of Rajshahi, Bangladesh and Jamia Milia Islamia, India, were also signed at the ceremony.
