DHAKA: The High Court summoned three officers of Apex Factory in Gazipur, including its managing director (MD), over the incident of giving birth to a baby by a worker in toilet.

The HC bench of Justice Reza-ul-Haque and Justice Abu Taher M Saifur Rahman passed the suo-moto order.

The court has asked the three officers to appear before it on May 24 and explain the reason of not granting the pregnant worker leave.

Besides, Kaliakoir Upazila Nirbahi Officer was asked to investigate the incident and submit report before the court.

The officers include Managing Director Syed nasim Manjur, Inspector Azizur Rahman, and Supervisor Ratan Mia.

The worker gave birth to a baby in the toilet of the office as she was not granted leave.
