DHAKA: A total of 92 out of 123 migrants rescued from a jungle of Thailand's southern Songkhla province on Friday, claimed themselves as Bangladesh nationals.

Sources of Bangladesh embassy in Bangkok, quoting Royal Thai Police, confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday morning.

According to the sources, those migrants have been kept at Rathaphum Police station in Songkhla Province.

A consular team from the embassy will visit the Province soon to meet those Bangladeshis nationals, said the embassy sources.

A total of 111 suspected Rohingya migrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh were rescued from jungle of Thailand's southern Songkhla province.

On Friday, Thailand police rescued the 123 migrants who were wandering alone on a mountain in the jungle after human traffickers fled, leaving them there.
