DHAKA: A school student died after falling from the rooftop of an eight-storey building at Patuatuli Lane under Kotowali Thana in city Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sajjad Hossain Risad, 12, son of one Firoz Alam, resident of the building and student of Class IV of Udayan School in city.

Deceased’s father told banglanews his son went to play at the rooftop but fell from there as there was no railing at the roof, and sustained critical injuries.

They rushed Sajjad to Salimullah Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) from where doctors shifted him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), he added.

Later, doctors declared Sajjad dead around 6pm, Firoz Alam added.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of DMCH police camp Sentu Chand confirmed the matter to banglanews.
