Magura arson attack toll rises to 5

DHAKA: Another burn victim, who suffered burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack in Magura on March 23, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early Wednesday.

The deceased is Imran Molla, 30, son of Sayeed Ali of Nischintpur village in Kahalu uapzila of Bogra.

The death toll from Magura arson attack has risen to five with Imram’s succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier on March 23, miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a truck on Magura-Jessore highway in Shalikha Upazila of Magura, leaving nine people injured with severe burns.

They were rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Matin Biswas, Roushan Biswas, Sakin Molla, Yadun Molla and Imran Molla succumbed to injuries.

Of them, Imran Molla, who sustained 50 percent burn injuries in his body, breathed his last at burn unit of the hospital around 6:00 am Wednesday.

More than 50 people died after suffering with burn injuries in hartal and blockade called by BNP-led 20-party alliance.
