SATKHIRA: An army person was killed in a road accident at Beltala area under Kalaroa upazila of the district Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Milon Hasan, 30, son of one Abdus Sattar, hailed from Chanduria Golpara village of the upazila.

Milon’s father-in-law Nur Hossain Molla told banglanews that the army-man was on leave for two months.

A pick-up van rammed into his motorbike while he was going to Kalaroa bazaar area around 1:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot, he added.

Kalaroa Thana officer-in-charge Sheikh Abu Saleh Masud Karim told banglanews that they recovered the body and sent it to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
