6 Biman men sued for 62kg gold haul

DHAKA: Customs Intelligence filed a case against six officers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines over a 62 kilograms gold seizure from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on February 2.

The intelligence filed the lawsuit at Airport Thana around 10:00pm under the Special Powers Act.

Aktaruzzaman, Abu Saleh, Anwarul Ahsan, Niranjan Mali, Emranul Islam, and Osman Gani of Biman’s Engineering Section were made accused in the case. Of them, Emranul Islam was detained earlier.

Assistant director Umme Nahida of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier some 62kg gold were recovered inside the cargo hall of Biman’s Ranga Provat flight on February 2.
