CHITTAGONG: A 45-year-old man hacked wife of his elder brother to death at their house in High-level Road area under Khulshi Thana of the port city Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Gulzar Begum Ruma, 37, wife of Yunus Khan, while the alleged killer was Yakub.

Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) police outpost nayek Jahangir Alam told banglanews that Yakub hit Gulzar, who lived with her husband at the house, with sharp weapon this morning, leaving her critically injured.

Later, she was rushed to CMCH where on-duty doctor declared her dead around 9:15am, Jahangir added.
