4 killed in Ashulia road crashes

DHAKA: Four people were killed and scores sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Ashulia, outskirt of the capital, on Wednesday morning.

Police said a truck collided head-on with a cattle-laden pick-up van in Togabari area on Bipail-Abdullahpur road in front of Navana CNG re-fuelling station around 5:30am, leaving two dead on the spot and several others injured.

Of the injured, a person succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

Meanwhile, a bicyclist was run over by a truck at Unique on Bipail-Abdullahpur road this morning.

Officer-In-Charge Mostafa Kamal of Ashulia Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The injured are undergoing treatment at hospital and family members have been informed, he added.
