DHAKA: Security measures have been tightened in adjacent area of central office of Jamaat-e-Islami at Mogbazar of the city after the death of war crimes convict Ghulam Azam on Thursday night.

On-duty police Sub-Inspector Mohiuddin told banglanews, additional forces have been deployed to prevent any untoward situation.

The 92-year-old former Jamaat-e-Islami chief died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in city at 10:10pm on Wednesday.

Ghulam Azam was serving 90-years imprisonment for his crimes against humanity during War of Independence in 1971.
