2 killed in city accidents

DHAKA: Two people were killed in separate incidents in the city between Friday night and early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Zaher Ali, 35, and Nazmul Hossain, 32.

Zaher’s nephew Manik told that one Selim knifed Zaher to injure seriously at a house owned by Mintu Mian, adjacent to the Madartek Abdullah School and College.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead at 12:30am and sent the body to DMCH morgue.
 
Selim was an uncle to Zaher, Manik added.

On the other hand, a truck ran over Nazmul near to the Asad Gate filling station in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area, leaving him critically injured.

Nazmul was taken to the DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries at 11:00pm on Friday.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Thana Sub-Inspector Kamal Hossain said, the truck has been seized; however, the driver managed to run away.
