Humayun Ahmed's mother passes away

DHAKA: Ayesha Foyez, mother of noted writer Humayun Ahmed, passed away at a city hospital on Saturday.

She was 84.

Ayesha Foyez breathed her last at Labaid Hospital around 7:00am, said her younger son Ahsan Habib.

She was undergoing kidney treatment at the hospital since Thursday.

Ayesha Foyez is the mother of Humayun Ahmed, noted writer, and science fiction author Prof Zafar Iqbal and cartoonist Ahsan Habib.

She was born on Mar 23, 1930 at Barhatta's Koitali village to Abul Hossain and Khairun Nesa.

She was the wife of Faizur Rahman, a police officer, also a Liberation War martyr.
