DU Japan Centre receives books from Akie Library

DHAKA: Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, handed over total of 45 books, journals and magazines on Japanese culture and lifestyle including the books authored by Mme. Akie Abe herself, which were received from “Akie Library” to the Japan Study Centre of the University of Dhaka Tuesday.

On behalf of the Japan Study Centre, Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Assistant Professor; Md. Jahangir Alam, Lecturer and a few student representatives were present at the ceremony.

Citing the wishes of Mme. Akie Abe, Ambassador Sadoshima expressed his hope that the students of the Japan Study Centre would make best use of these new study materials to better understand Japan and the Japanese language.

In response, Mamun expressed the Centre’s heartfelt gratitude to Mme. Akie Abe for the gift which is a symbol of “Japan-Bangladesh Comprehensive Partnership,” and articulated their intention of maximum utilization of the learning materials.
